The title of the STEARICA's 2008 debut album ‘Oltre’represent in some ways the desire to go ‘beyond’ the traditional concept of a band.

'Oltre' is the first full-lenght album presenting the ability of the Turin's trio to explore different music attitudes producing a never-stopping sonic flow.

The album, produced by band's member Francesco Carlucci, features special guests like Dälek mc and Oktopus producer (Dälek), Amy Denio (Fred Frith, Derek Bailey, Matt Cameron, The Tiptons, etc), Jessica Lurie (Bill Frisell, Nels Cline, The Indigo Girls, The Tiptons, etc), Nick Storring (Damo Suzuki network, Picastro, etc).

The response to ‘Oltre’ both at home (“...the best record produced in Italy in years” -Il Mucchio) and internationally (UK avant garde magazine The Wire featured the track "Occhio" on its covermount CD) gives to STEARICA the chance to tour over 90 gigs all around Europe. Hokaben in London (with Don Caballero, Sun Ra Arkestra, Chris Corsano), Be2gether in Lithuania (with Groove Armada, GvsB, Clinic), Traffic in Turin (with Tricky, Battles), Soy in Nantes (with Why?, Six Organce of Admittance, No Age): these are some of the international festivals where the band set the stage on fire.
